    About the Institute

    VAMNICOM is located in Pune, a historic city, that is the cultural capital of the State of Maharashtra and the educational center of India. The city presents a fine blend of academics and industry, as leading industries like Tata Motors, Philips, Finolex, and KSB Pumps, amongst numerous others, have their base in Pune. The Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Cooperative Management (VAMNICOM) is conceived as an intellectual nerve center for the cooperative movement, and it is financed by the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India. VAMNICOM associates with various    international agencies and organizations like the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA), International Labour Organisation (ILO), Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO), Asian and Pacific Agricultural     Credit Association   (APRACA), etc. The Institute conducts exchange programmes in collaboration with the Department of International, Technical, and Economic Cooperation (ITEC), Ministry of External Affairs. It offers training programmes for senior executives from cooperatives in developing countries. Also, it conducts collaborative programmes with the National Institute for Cooperative Development (NICO), Sri Lanka, the Association of Asian Confederations of Credit Unions (ACCU), Bangkok, Thailand, and the Cooperative College of Malaysia. The instutute has also been an active promoter in the establishment of the Centre for International Cooperation and Training in Agricultural Banking (CICTAB), which is engaged in organizing training programmes in the field of agricultural and rural banking for professionals from SAARC countries.

     

    PGDM - AGRI BUSINESS MANAGEMENT

    Centre for Management Education offers a two-year Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) of the programme from the year 1993. The center seeks to mould its young students, who come from different academic backgrounds and have diverse skills, into competent professionals of tomorrow. The students learn to combine the use of technical skills with the understanding of the socio-cultural system to emerge as leaders in their fields. They are ready to make significant contributions through their management skill in all sectors of society. Considering the ever-growing requirement for professional managers in the field of Agri Business, the PGDM programme has been structured with a specialization in Agri Business Management (ABM). Students evolve through a structured teaching-learning process that enables them to:

    • Develop a good conceptual understanding of various fields of agribusiness, their intersectorial ties, and inter linkages to economic development.
    • Acquire the relevant skills in using modern management tools and techniques.
    • Develop application skills of appropriate management techniques in the context of agribusiness

    The PGDM has been recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) Government of India and by Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to MBA degree. The Programme has been accredited by the the National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi.

    The programme comprises two segments, viz., classroom and summer Internship. Of these, the first involves exposure to concepts, skills, and knowledge in the classroom, while the latter involves first-hand experience of understanding organizations. Evaluation of students' performance in the Programme is a continuous process, offering opportunities for frequent and regular corrections. All the segments of Programme - classroom study, fieldwork, and summer Internship- are evaluated, and the results are reported on the students' grade card. Students are expected to meet the standards of performance prescribed by the PGDM Committee for each segment.

    Classroom Segments

    The PGDM programme is designed with classroom teaching components, integrated case method pedagogy, with application-oriented learning 96 credits are required to be completed in six terms. 26 credits of subjects are offered in Core Management areas, and 11 credits of specialization subjects are offered in the area of Agri-Business Management. credit courses is devoted to live/winter project in the agri business industry. The project in the agribusiness industry requires finding a solution for a managerial issue or problem through field study and application of classroom learning to real life business situations. This experience equip the students to take up challenging assignments in the Agri Business sector

    Eligibility for Admission
    • Any graduate from a recognized University, with minimum education of 15 years (10+2+3) full-time with atleast 50% marks for the General / OBC (non creamy)/EWS candidates and 45% marks for SC / ST candidates in Graduation.
    • Latest Valid test scores of any one of the Na!onal level Tests - CAT / XAT /CMAT at the time of application (GMAT / GRE for foreign national candidates. These guidelines may get modified / subject to be modified depending upon AICTE guidelines  from time to time.
    • The percentage obtained by the candidate in the Bachelor's Degree would be based on the practice followed by the University / institution from which the candidate obtained the degree.
    • Applicants who have appeared for bachelor's degree examinations and awaiting results may also apply subject to fulfillment of conditions by 14/08/2024.
    • Reservation of seats for OBC (Non Creamy) SC / ST / Physically Disability persons/ Wards of Kashmiri migrants and Kashmiri Pandit/Kashmiri Hindu families (Non-migrants) living in Kashmir Valley as per Govt. of India rules.
    Admission Procedure

    Admission procedure for the PGDM (32nd batch) programme commencing on 11th January, 2024 is as given below:

    The selection to PGDM-ABM programme is based on entrance examination, which is comprising of :

    a. Latest valid test score of CAT / XAT /CMAT (NTA) at the !me of applica!on (GMAT/GRE for foreign national candidates)

    b. Group Discussion &

    c. Personal Interview.

    Shortlisted candidates based on written test score will be called for GD & PI. Securing the minimum prescribed marks in Group Discussion and Personal Interview are compulsory to become eligible for taking admission.

    Note: Candidates interested in pursuing PGDM – ABM at VAMNICOM, Pune are advised to apply and appear for the referred national level test directly and apply to VAMNICOM in the prescribed application form with a valid score from January 11th January to 30th April 2024.

    How to Apply

    The candidates are advised to with valid score of CAT/XAT/CMAT from 11th January to 30th April 2024 by applying online with applica!on fee of Rs. 500/- in favour of

    "The Director, VAMNICOM, Pune".

    Candidates are advised to submit the application fee with the form through online (G-PAY/Phone Pay/ Mobile Banking) from the institute website www.vamnicom.gov.in.

    The Group Discussion and Personal Interviews will be conducted in Bangalore, Bhubaneshwar, Chennai, Dehradun, Gandhinagar, Jabalpur, Jaipur, Kalyani, Nagpur, New Delhi, Patna, Pantnagar and Pune during April & May 2024, subject to sufficient number of students opting for it.

    The institutions which are conducting CAT / XAT / CMAT have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the programme.

    Scholarships

    The Institute offers 25% concession on Tution fee to the First Rank holders of Agricultural universities in Agriculture and allied subject area.

    CICTAB Meritorious Award of Rs. 15000/- each for 2 students of India & Foreign nationals.

    VAMNICOM also offers two scholarship of Rs. 30,000/- each to the meritorious students( 2 students each from FY & SY every year).

    VAMNICOM forward the application and facilitates release of Government of India scholarship in favour of eligible students belonging to various social categories viz. SC/ST through their respective state Social Welfare Department.

    Programme Cost

    The programme fee payable is Rs. 9,16,750=00 which include Tuition fee, examination fee, computer and internet service charges, sports, cultural and student ac!vi!es, local industrial visit, course material , text books, group insurance, placement support charge, and lodging charge & mess fee. In addition to the programme fees the students are required to pay deposit of Rs. 10,000/- towards Library, Mess, Hostel & cau!on in the Firstrefundable Year. All the students are required to bring their own laptop at the beginning of the programs as per the prescribed configuration.
